Sandy Johnson is a member of the Kwakwaka'wakw Nation. He trained with Wayne Alfred, as well as other notable carvers. Sandy is especially noted for his miniature masks, and brings the same exacting standards to his larger pieces. This is a Portrait Mask with the Killer Whale Crest, the tears running down the cheeks repesenting a Mourning Mask. The mask is carved and painted it measures 10 inches in heigth, 7 inches in width and is 7 inches deep finished off with cedar bark.
